Welcome to SCCEGA!

President’s Message

Hi Everyone – hope you have all had time to stitch on your UFOs. There were a lot of them with fun stories associated with them. Members are hard at work to finish up their Habitat for Humanity samplers for families moving into their new homes this summer. A completed one should be at the March general meeting for you to see. If you are interested in helping, please see Carmi Vescelus at the general meeting.

This month we have Ann Strite-Kurz coming to our meeting for a slide lecture. We are so fortunate to have other chapters in our region to share teachers with. Otherwise it would be cost prohibitive for Ann to come to our meeting. She will be presenting a slide lecture entitled “Stitch Variations and Mutations.” I am sure that it will be an enjoyable evening for all.

In April Nancy Cucci will be coming to teach her “Beachy Banner.” You can order the “Flip Flop” ornament too, but she won’t be teaching it. She will bring beads for the starfish, so see further on in the newsletter for cost information. We have a Region Meeting in Gilbert, AZ April 22. I am looking forward to taking a break from work and seeing the “Through the Needle’s Eye” exhibit at the museum where the meeting is being held. It is always fun to hear what other chapters are doing.

And before you know it, it will be time to send in your membership renewal and continue work on Ambrosia Honey in May. I saw on the EGA Facebook page that a member substituted a butterfly for the bee. I didn’t even miss the bee….

Happy Stitching,

Linda
